Flydubai co-pilot plotted 'suicide' attack on Israel, UAE says

The incident occurred on March 1, 2023, when a Flydubai co-pilot allegedly plotted a 'suicide' attack on an Israeli target in the United Arab Emirates. The revelation comes after months of speculation about the co-pilot's intentions. According to sources, the co-pilot, who has not been named, had been planning the attack for several months. The plot was reportedly foiled by UAE authorities before it could be carried out.

UAE officials have confirmed that the co-pilot had been in contact with extremist groups and had been planning to carry out a terrorist attack. The incident has raised concerns about the vetting process used by airlines to recruit pilots.

Regulators in the UAE have launched an investigation into the incident and have called for greater cooperation with international authorities.
